Casa Zucchini (former Gozzadini)

In 1465 Andrea Cenni, a merchant from Imola and tribune of the people, began to build this house.
It was then purchased by Annibale Gozzadini who, between 1494 and 1536, started to work on the enlargement, especially of the environments on the ground floor, but left them unfinished.
Cesare Zucchini, in 1901, concluded the works.

The 'portico', adorned with beautiful capitals in Istrian stone, refers to the first construction brief.
The rich main door, described by one reporter as "the most beautiful and artificial door that can be seen in any public and private palace", was ordered in 1542 by Gabione son of Hannibal Gozzadini.
According to legend the door and the knocker had been ornaments to the Bentivoglio palace, destroyed in 1507.
Noteworthy are the eighteenth century grand staircase designed by Francesco Angelini and the statues modeled by Angelo Piņ.
